International music stars Olamide from Nigeria and Bien from Kenya joined Rwandan artistes to entertain fans at a concert held alongside the Basketball Africa League (BAL) Finals at Zaria Court in Kigali.
On the night of Saturday, 30 May, leading into Sunday, 31 May 2026, football, basketball and music enthusiasts gathered at Zaria Court for the highly anticipated event dubbed “Party Next Door: BAL Edition.”Following the UEFA Champions League final, which saw Paris Saint-Germain defeat Arsenal, hosts Zuba Mutesi and Rock Try took to the stage to lead the evening’s entertainment programme.
Rwandan singer RLutta opened the performances with popular songs including Umeze Bon and Hold My Hand. He was followed by Logan Joe, who thrilled the crowd with tracks such as Tricky, Kibonumwe, Ntiwamvamo, Whatever and Treasure.
As the evening progressed, South African DJ and singer Zakes Bantwini took over the stage, delivering nearly an hour of energetic music that kept the audience dancing before handing over to the much anticipated Olamide.
Performing in Rwanda for the first time, the Nigerian star treated fans to a selection of his biggest hits, including both solo releases and collaborations that have enjoyed widespread popularity across Rwanda and the continent.His setlist featured Jinja, Infinity (featuring Omah Lay), Hello Habibi (with Russ), Turn Up, Reggae Blues (with Iyanya, Kcee and Orezi), and Fada Fada (with Phyno).He also performed fan favourites such as The Money, Don’t Stop, Shoki, Motigbana, Goons Mi, Issa Goal, Science Student, Story of the Gods and Bobo.
Rwandan artiste Mike Kayihura followed with performances of Zuba, Anytime, Tuza and Come On. During Yububu, he was joined on stage by Kid from Kigali, with whom he collaborated on the song. Their performance was followed by DJ and singer Marnaud, who entertained the audience with a mix of music and his hit track Puresha.
Kenyan singer Bien closed the concert. Although he expressed disappointment that time constraints prevented him from giving fans the full performance he had hoped for, he told the audience he would love to return to Rwanda and perform for a longer period.
Despite the limited time, Bien captivated the crowd with performances of Lost & Found, Sura Yako, Too Easy, Chikwere, Extravaganza, Ayayaah (with Joshua Baraka and Element Eleéeh), Extra Pressure, All My Enemies Are Suffering and the Kigali favourite Finale.
The concert was organised as part of the festivities surrounding the Basketball Africa League Finals taking place in Rwanda. The championship game, scheduled for Sunday at BK Arena, will see Rwanda’s RSSB Tigers BBC face Angola’s Petro de Luanda.Fans who were unable to secure tickets for the final match will have the opportunity to watch the game live at Zaria Court.
