X is changing the way it rewards creators, bringing its existing revenue-sharing program to an end and replacing it with a new system focused on original posts.
Creators already enrolled in the current program will continue earning under the existing system until September 7, 2026. From September 8, eligible users will be able to apply for the new rewards program.
To qualify, users will need an active Premium subscription, at least 500 verified followers, and their posts must have appeared on other users’ Home Timelines at least 500,000 times within 90 days.
Under the new system, X says it will place greater value on content created by users themselves, including original stories, analysis, photos, videos, artwork and meaningful commentary.
Posts simply copied or reposted from other accounts without significant added value will no longer receive the same treatment.
The move signals X’s push to reward creators who bring fresh ideas and original content to the platform rather than those who mainly recycle content created by others.
