Five films produced by BahAfrica, the production company owned by Bahavu Jeannette, are set to begin airing on Zacu TV, a television channel dedicated primarily to broadcasting films, particularly those produced in Rwanda.
The agreement to broadcast these productions was officially signed on 2 June 2026.Zacu Entertainment, the company that operates Zacu TV, stated that the partnership is expected to contribute significantly to the growth and development of Rwanda’s film industry.
Speaking to IGIHE, Nsengumuremyi Valens, one of the executives at Zacu Entertainment, said that the agreement grants the channel the rights to broadcast the television series “My Father-in-Law” and “Urukundo rw’Inzitane”, as well as feature films including “The Ring I Lost”, “Urukundo rw’Ikinyoma”, and “Bad Choice”.
In addition to these productions, Zacu TV is also preparing to air new films, including the second instalment of “Hurts Harder”, “Back Stage”, and several other productions.Zacu TV was launched by Zacu Entertainment and was acquired by the Canal+ Group in October 2022. The channel is dedicated to showcasing films, with a particular focus on Rwandan productions and international films dubbed into Kinyarwanda.
The station has gained considerable popularity through its broadcast of films such as “The Bishop’s Family”, “Ishusho ya Papa”, “Shuwa Dilu”, and many other productions created by Rwandan actors and filmmakers.
