Three of Nigeria’s biggest music exports Davido, Tems and Wizkid—have been confirmed as the headline performers for a major Afrobeats festival scheduled to take place in the United States from September 4 to September 6, 2026.

According to the festival schedule, Davido will open the event on September 4, followed by Grammy-winning singer Tems on the second day, while Wizkid will bring the three-day celebration to a close on September 6.

The festival’s lineup also features several leading African and international artists, including Tiwa Savage, Ayra Starr and Olamide. They will share the stage with American rappers Lil Baby, Latto, Sexyy Red and Chief Keef, alongside Jamaican dancehall artist Alkaline.

The 2026 edition marks a significant expansion of the festival after its inaugural event in Washington, D.C., in 2025. Organizers say the debut attracted approximately 20,000 attendees, prompting the event to grow from a one-day concert into a three-day festival dedicated to African music and culture.

The announcement has attracted considerable attention across social media platforms, where fans have welcomed the opportunity to see Davido, Tems and Wizkid featured at the same event. The lineup is being viewed by many as another indication of Afrobeats’ continued international growth, with African artists increasingly securing headline slots at major festivals and global entertainment events.

Over the past decade, Afrobeats has evolved from a regional genre into a worldwide cultural force. Nigerian artists now regularly collaborate with international musicians, perform at prestigious venues and music festivals, and receive recognition from major global award institutions.

This year’s festival is expected to further strengthen that momentum by bringing together some of the genre’s most influential names while showcasing the diversity and commercial success of contemporary African music on an international stage.
