Renowned Tanzanian singer Zuchu, signed under Wasafi Classic Baby (WCB), has responded to claims that she was booed in Nairobi, Kenya.

The “Sukari” hitmaker was among the artists performing at the stadium on Saturday, August 30, 2025, before the final match between Morocco and Madagascar. Zuchu shared the stage with Kenyan artist Savara and Ugandan artist Eddy Kenzo, contributing to a lively celebration of East African culture.

Was Zuchu Booed in Kenya?

A clip circulating on social media appeared to show a portion of the crowd singing the Kenyan national anthem loudly, which some interpreted as a protest during her performance. Reports suggested the incident was fueled by ongoing rivalry between Kenyan and Tanzanian fans, amplified on social media.

The video quickly went viral, sparking heated reactions from fans across the region.

Zuchu Denies Viral Booing Claims

In response, Zuchu took to social media to firmly deny the allegations. She described the circulating videos as manipulated propaganda intended to damage her reputation.

“Where did you get this information? Using an altered video with the audio added? If the creators don’t know the stadium’s sound level, how can they expect you to hear the song? My show is on YouTube, and it was live. If what you’re saying had actually happened, the whole live show would have reflected it,” Zuchu wrote.

The superstar criticized bloggers and media outlets for spreading misinformation without proper fact-checking.”You writers who are unprofessional and haven’t done your research should reconsider… There’s no moment like what you’re claiming. The only thing I saw was an attempt to stir controversy and create a conflict,” she added.

Zuchu’s Message to Critics

Despite the backlash, Zuchu remained confident in her brand and reputation, attributing her success to her faith and the unwavering support of her loyal fans.
