Shakib Cham Lutaaya has hinted that he may have separated from his wife, Zari Hassan, with whom he has been living in different countries. Many immediately began questioning their relationship, with some concluding that they might have already split, based on Shakib’s remarks.
In an interview with SPM Buzz, Shakib was asked about Zari no longer following him on social media, particularly Instagram, and the fact that he does not follow her either. The interviewer pointed out that this situation had been ongoing for nearly a year but had been kept largely private.Seemingly surprised, Shakib said that the two had never discussed unfollowing each other on social media, adding that it was something Zari herself should be asked about.
He explained: “Honestly, we never had a conversation about why we stopped following each other on social media. I also don’t know the reason, but I think it’s her issue, and she should be the one to answer.”When asked why he hasn’t taken the step to follow her back, Shakib replied with frustration: “Because she was the one who did it first.” On whether he would follow her again, he admitted: “Yes, of course, I would, if it’s possible.”
His responses fueled speculation that the couple might have secretly separated, as fans quickly took to social media to gossip about their marriage. However, Shakib downplayed the matter, saying that not following each other on social platforms wasn’t such a serious issue, at least not to the extent their fans were making it out to be.He further explained that he doesn’t care much about the rumors, insisting he still has the will to follow Zari Hassan again but only if she also does it first, as that would show him she is willing to maintain peace and harmony in their marriage.
This response itself suggested that things may not be going well between the two, and reinforced speculation that they could have already separated, especially since they live in different countries.Zari Hassan, popularly known as “Boss Lady”, first gained fame as a musician before venturing into business and other pursuits. She became widely known after dating Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz and her late husband Ivan Don Ssemwanga, who passed away leaving her with two sons.
Her relationship with Shakib Cham drew attention because of their notable age difference. So far, neither Zari nor Shakib has openly confirmed their split, though Shakib’s remarks strongly suggest that they may no longer be together.Currently, Shakib resides in Uganda, where he is based and conducts his daily activities, while Zari Hassan lives in South Africa, managing the school left behind by her late husband, as well as raising her four children.
